Ribery Takes Certainty Before June 12 January 2010 at 3:19 pm by phery

Bayern Munich midfielder Franck Ribery wants his future decided before the World Cup next June 2010.

French international players are often linked to flee from the Allianz Arena, although he was still bound by contract until 2011.

Ribery could be sold in the next season if they are not willing to do a new contract extension. Even President Bayern, Uli Hoeness said that the two big clubs like Real Madrid and Chelsea are interested in Ribery.

“It will be faster. We’ll know before the end of the season. At about two, two and a half months away. I want to know before the World Cup.”

Ribery lost most of the first half of the season because of a series of injuries and in 2010 started the year with back injuries.

Bayern Munich midfielder Mark van Bommel has revealed that he would rather play Barcelona in the Champions League final than during the knock-out stage as he believes they would be easier to beat.

Talking to the Abendzeitung in Munich, the Dutch captain explained that he felt that playing Barca over two legs would be a much more difficult prospect than meeting them in a one-off match on neutral territory.

“Playing Barcelona in the Nou Camp is the hardest task there is.  When Barca play at home, they are simply awesome. It’s a bit different away from home,” he explained. Read the rest of this entry →

The Brazilian defender is aware that his time in Germany is up, and he is now looking for a new challenge in his career.

Lucio joined Bayern Munich from the fellow Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen in 2004, where he spent three seasons at. Since this time, the Brazilian has gone on to become one of the best defenders in the competition, and he is the current vice-captain of the successful German outfit.
